Do you know what is that one common thing between the successful and influential people like Abdul Kalam and Barack Obama, Bill gates and Warren Buffet, Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg.
They are all voracious readers. They read a lot.
In an interview, Warren Buffet was once asked about his key to success. He pointed to the stack of books and said, “Read 500 pages a day. That’s how knowledge works. It builds up, like compound interest”.
When Elon musk was asked how he learned to build rockets, he simply replied, “I read books.”
Probably if you are still reading…
If there is one good habit that am proud of myself, that’s reading books. I have been reading books for quite some time. After finishing a book, I always felt a sense of accomplishment and I take pride in myself for this reading habit.
Until one day, my wife asked me by picking up a book, ‘Can you explain me what this book is about in 5–10 sentences?.’
I tried recollecting the main insights from the book but got stumbled after 2–3 sentences. I didn’t say anything more, got blushed and left from there. Suddenly, my pride in self got…
Last day, with lot of excitement, my manager said we got a new team member named “Rhea”. As soon as I hear the name with his excitement, I started imagining her as a young girl who will be attractive, smart and intelligent. The spread of such information disrupts our society in a more harm than useful way. Before forwarding any such information we need to go through the Triple Filter Test.
The triple filter test anecdote references to the ancient Greek philosopher, Socrates.
Socrates was a great scholar, teacher and philosopher…
Change is Hard!
What comes to your mind during the year end and when we are going to start another wonderful year?
New Year Resolutions?
I strongly feel every one of us make a list of goals for the coming year. Some may take self-resolutions like to become fit/lose weight, start reading at least 10–12 books, resolutions out of personal interests like learning music, etc. But again we will welcome the New Year and start making these changes for a week or so. And then you skip for couple of days and by the time we try to remember about…
